PCG Sydney attends Senior Models with a Difference

Sydney, 16 July 2023 -- The Philippine Consulate in Sydney celebrates diversity and inclusion with its support for the Senior Models with a Difference event held at the Burwood RSL Club on 16 July 2023, which was organized by Ms. Evelyn Zaragoza, Ms. Lettie Aguilar, Ms. Prima Cruz West, and Ms. Marilou Bautista.

MP Stephen Bali, Member for Blacktown and Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Public Spaces, was also a guest at the event.

Some 23 senior models walked the runway with gowns of their choice under three separate themes—floral, formal and Filipiniana.

Among three (3) centenarians honored was Nanay Enriqueta ‘Itang’ Soledad, who is 101 years old. The centenarians were given certificates of recognition for their valuable contributions to the community.

In her remarks, Consul General Charmaine Rowena C. Aviquivil congratulated all the centenarians for their continued strides not only in remaining active and healthy, but also in being socially involved and relevant, as well as in making significant contributions to the senior community in New South Wales.

Consul General Aviquivil also encouraged the senior models to continue to serve as an inspiration to everyone young and old, to never stop aiming to be the best versions of themselves.

She urged the seniors to continue engaging in activities that boost self-confidence, promote a healthy and active lifestyle, and affirm self-care. END
