PCG SYDNEY COMPLETES CONSULAR OUTREACH MISSION IN BALLINA, NEW SOUTH WALES

The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney concluded its first Consular Outreach Mission of the year in New South Wales, visiting Ballina, NSW on 27 February 2021.

PCG Sydney had gotten the go signal from the local authorities based on the Consulate’s assurances that it would follow existing COVID19 safety measures.

Ballina, a town in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia, is home to about a thousand Filipinos. The town is approximately 741.1 kilometers north of Sydney, about an 8 hour to drive. Many of the clients came from the nearby towns of Lismore, Grafton and the state of Queensland. There are currently no travel restrictions between NSW and Queensland.

This was also the Consulate’s first field overseas voting registration for 2021. A total of 65 overseas registrants were registered during this one-day outreach mission.

Consul General Ezzedin Tago expressed appreciation to the community in Ballina and nearby areas for following COVID19 safety measures during the outreach and for helping the Consulate during this outreach.
