In celebration of the Buwan ng Wika 2020, and in support to Sentro Rizal’s promotion of Philippine culture through language, the Philippine Consulate General – Sentro Rizal (SR) Sydney held a “Bigkas Serye” Book Reading Series Project. Three (3) books/stories, entitled Ayoko Po Sana, Tagu-Taguan and Ang Pambihirang Buhok ni Racquel were featured by the Consulate and posted on its Facebook and Sentro Rizal Pages.

The project aims to promote Philippine culture through language to the second and third generations of Filipinos in Australia, and boost the interest of the young generation to learn the language. It also encourages the Filipino Australians in the New South Wales to continue to use the language as a medium of communication at home.

Story by Prof. Early Sol A. Gadong; Illustrations by Mr. Borj Sinaban, Read by: Naomi Diano. The story tells the rights of the child.

14 August 2020 – TAGU-TAGUAN – a counting book by Jomike Tejido and read by Emerson Galvez. The book teaches children to count the fun way.

24 August 2020 – ANG PAMBIHIRANG BUHOK NI RAQUEL – story by Dr. Luis Gatmaitan,

Illustrations by Beth Parrocha-Doctolero read by Yzabelle De Lara.
